Harris County Industrial Development Corporation (HCIDC) is a domestic nonprofit corporation formed in the State of Texas on August 13, 1981. HCIDC operates under authority granted by Texas Government Code Chapter 501 on behalf of Harris County, Texas.
As noted on our ABOUT page, HCIDC has the capacity to assist non-governmental entities in developing new or expanding business enterprises, located in Harris County, Texas, through the issuance of taxable or tax-exempt bonds that comply with Chapter 501 and relevant IRS Code sections. Types of projects that may qualify for assistance include: highway facilities, freight transfer facilities, carbon dioxide capture facilities, broadband facilities, airport facilities, docks and wharves, hydro-electric generating facilities, sustainable design projects, enterprise zone facilities, empowerment zone facilities, small-scale manufacturing facilities and small-scale industrial facilities.
